Retreat and ‘Uncharted 2: Among Thieves’

October 29, 2009 - Leave a Response

Ugh, retreat day today. Lovely. Nothing like a bit of ‘positive’ peer pressure to make you feel wonderful about yourself. Anyone who’s ever had to participate in a retreat day knows exactly what I’m talking about. A whole day of ‘feel good about yourself by discussing your feelings’. I’m not really into that sort of… public embarrassment, if I had to give it a title. At least there isn’t another one until next year.

I’d also like to share with you, this, a clip from the track Nate’s Theme 2.0 from the soundtrack of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. I’ve yet to play the game, but after watching a review on GameTrailers, I definitely would love to. However, while I wait, I’ll be loving listening to the epic orchestral soundtrack crafted for the game by Greg Edmonson. It’s a terrific score, as you can probably tell from that demo. Make sure you get onto that.

That’s all from me this month. Anyone who reads this, please tell me so. I’m so lonely.

Still Composing and Other Projects

August 7, 2009 - Leave a Response

Yes, faithful readers, I’m still writing. I’ve been a bit slack, though, moving off into other sorts of music (mostly house and rock and those sorts of thing) in FL, rather than anything I’d normally do in Sibelius. This is mainly because, unfortunately, this computer is frankly too homo to run Sibelius properly, so it’s quite a bitch to write with. Hopefully soon I can obtain more RAM so it can run more smoothly, and I can get back to writing.

I’ve also been offered some jobs by someone on NG, which is good, hopefully this too will pull me back into composing. Yes, these projects are orchestral.

Finally, MMC3. Yes, it’s still coming, but I haven’t worked on it in more than a month now. You know how it goes, I’ve no real motivation to finish it right now, so I probably won’t. But with the amount of effort I’ve put into it, I’ll hopefully get it done eventually.

That’s all for now, I think. Please, if you read this or even end up at this page, comment, right now this blog is apparently only for me.

SibeliusMusic.com and Composition Tutorials

July 25, 2009 - Leave a Response

I’m going to be posting some of my scores up there soon, mostly for free, as I can’t see anyone wanting to buy

  • Orchestral music
  • My orchestral music
  • My music

For right now, you can find my SibeliusMusic page here.

I’m also just about to start writing some epic Vegas big band-ey stuff (except without vocals, unless someone would offer their vocal talents). Even if you’re not ‘talented’ per se… I love Auto Tune!

Also also, with this big band-ey piece, I might end up making a tutorial showing how exactly I put it together, depending on the response here (there probably won’t be one, this blog still has only had, like, one visitor or something).

Until next time, not that anyone would ever visit.

“No-one Reads My Blog”, A Sob Story…

July 22, 2009 - One Response

It’s true, you know. No-one reads this. Look, I’ll even put in a silly video, and no-one’s going to comment or anything.

Hitler is mad at YouTube for making fun of him so…

See. Not a single comment.

Well, anyway.

Master Music is going well, though to be honest I haven’t worked on it for a while, I just need to get back into it.

And I’m about to compose something epic right now. So I might go do that. Like, now… Uhh…

Bye.

Got My Sibelius 6 + Other Assorted News Items

July 3, 2009 - Leave a Response

Yay. I finally got my copy of Sibelius 6. But, it’s not really everything I thought it would be, and, thus far, have only used it to compose one piece. Sure, it’s much better than the previous Sibelius 5, but I’m not sure it’s worth the $300 I paid for it (or the regular retail $800!). But, hey, I can’t really judge, it’s still an excellent piece of software, and I look forward to using it a lot more in the future.

Also, I’d like to draw attention to a pretty funny flash movie I saw the other day on Newgrounds – Parliament Deathmatch. It’s an Australian political thing, I found it quite funny.

Also, also, I’ve just created a new site, over at Webs, but don’t go there. It’s not done. >=[

Finally, I’d like to plug Cracked.com, one of my favourite comedy sites. They get about 3 new articles every day or something there, it’s crazy. Yes, they let anyone (who is funny enough) write for them. Particularly look at this video I found there, Answering the Phone in a Movie Can Be Tricky at First.

Sibelius 6

June 14, 2009 - Leave a Response

I’m about to be buying Sibelius 6, and I’m pretty excited about it. With it’s new sounds, new layout, ReWire ability… I’m drooling just thinking about it all. It’ll seriously help my composing process, and on top of that, make my scores look more professional. I was thinking of writing something for one of the school bands. So, as soon as I recieve it, I’ll get busy on making videos and tuts and all that jazz, and posting lots about it.

In the meantime, check out my site for more of my music and other projects.

Master Music 3 is coming!

June 3, 2009 - Leave a Response

For real this time!

Not giving too much away at this point, though over the coming weeks I’ll reveal more. Right now all I’ve got for you is one screenshot. The Class should be finished in the next few weeks, and rest assured, it’s already much, MUCH better than the previous two, and I’ve only finished the intro and part one. This one contains much more interactivity for the user and easier navigation.

To see the shot, visit my NG userpage!

NMG – Music in Motion

May 16, 2009 - Leave a Response

The point of this post is to help you out with Newgrounds medal games. I know there are already quite a few walkthroughs and hints and tips so far on Newgrounds, but I thought I’d just add my own ideas to the pile.

Music in Motion

Run and Jump

Just hold the right arrow key and jump, very rarely you may have to jump out from under an overhang, but that shouldn’t be too much trouble.

Falling Blocks

This one isn’t too hard anyway, just hang out to the sides and move away if a block starts coming down on top of you. Jumping is a good way to take a look at what’s ahead.

Disco Disaster

Again, just hold down an arrow key (right or left) and continually press jump. Even when you jump onto a spike, you won’t get hurt.

Boss

Simply avoid his attacks (jumping at first, then he’ll start shooting) until he turns red, then jump on his head. Do this 3 times and you will win.
